Sometimes it is so hard to maintain our focus on our own health and fitness goals when we are trying to keep our kids fed (and healthy!), clean, entertained, as well as maintain our homes, cook, do yard work, and so on and so on!

I have never been good with fitness discipline…that is, until March of this year! I had my 4th child (5th pregnancy, first was stillborn) and came out of it with 2 chronic diagnosis’ that stemmed from high risk pregnancy issues-so for me, to get healthy and make sure that I STAY healthy to be around for a long time for my kids, and my grandkids…I had to make some changes!

I want to encourage you that when you feel like you can’t, you’ve been trying to make changes and it’s not working, or it’s too late, or you just don’t have it in you to try…don’t give up! There are so many things that come up to distract us, but it is never too late to make changes! Push through those plateaus! You can do it. To give you a little background on my story…I joined Tone It Up last summer, and got pregnant shortly afterwards. With my pregnancy I couldn’t follow their meal plans and workout the way I wanted to, so I let it slide and told myself that I would pick it back up after my baby was born. All my kids are very close together, so in between my pregnancies I didn’t really have a chance to lose weight or even FEEL healthy…but this was my last baby and I kept telling myself I would do it, and that I had to do it. I’m not sure what mustered up inside me, but I started the Tone It Up 8 week summer program and stayed accountable to my peers on instagram, to my husband, my close friends, and I made some serious life changes! I am now pushing almost 50 lbs down since I had my son and I feel awesome! I am not where I want to be at this point, but I am headed in that direction. Tone It Up is an amazing community of women worldwide, and I absolutely love it! They are so supportive, and educational in healthy lifestyles, eating, etc.

As someone who has never been good with staying disciplined with exercise, I can now say that I exercise every day! Even if it’s just a walk, I get up and move. I have changed the way I eat and I get out and move my body. I also drag my kids and sometimes my husband out with me! We make a family outing out of it. Involving my family in my journey has made it so much more FUN! Exercise doesn’t have to be a drag! Find something that inspires you, make a goal, write it down (and put it somewhere you can see it all the time, if that helps!) and go for it! I follow so many inspiring women on Facebook and Instagram that blow my socks off with their progress, it’s amazing what we can do with ourselves if we just try…and keep going, even when we feel like we’re not making the progress we think we should be, or as fast as we should be! Keep going!

I want this blog to be an encouragement to you. I want to inspire anyone I can to keep going. I know it’s hard, I know it’s a fight some days to just get through the day and survive…but you are stronger than you think and more capable than you know! I believe in you, and I am here for you in any way that I can be to help you, even if you just need some kind words 🙂 You are a rockstar!
